Incoloy 909
Description
Incoloy 909 (UNS N19909) is a nickel-iron-cobalt alloy engineered for dimensional stability, with a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a stable modulus of elasticity. Strengthened by the addition of niobium and titanium followed by precipitation hardening, this alloy performs well under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. Incoloy 909 is widely used in critical aerospace and defense components such as gas turbine parts and ordnance hardware.
Application:
- Gas turbines
- Rocket-engine thrust chambers
- Ordnance hardware
- Springs
- Steam-turbine bolts
- Gauge blocks, instrumentation, and glass-sealing
