Incoloy 840
Description
Incoloy 840 (UNS S33400) is an austenitic stainless steel with added titanium and aluminum, along with chromium, nickel, copper, and molybdenum. Its high chromium content promotes the formation of a protective chromium oxide layer that gives it superior oxidation resistance at high temperatures—better than standard chromium-nickel stainless steels. Incoloy 840 is especially suited for electric heating elements like heating rods, tubes, and coils. It offers high thermal efficiency, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and a long service life.
Application:
- Electric heat pipes
- Automotive emission control systems
- Furnaces, ovens, and hot press moulds
- Petrochemical industry components
- Water tanks, oil tanks, and acid/alkali tanks
- Industrial accessories
